Random thoughts.

The stage right 1/4" in/outs will be used for both instrument sends to the mixer;

bulletelectric piano
bulletany other surprises the music dept. come up with.

3 or 4 sets of speaker returns (to amps located on stage) for

bulletstage level fill speakers
bulletstage monitors
bulletsub-woofers under the front of the stage
bulletspecial effects speakers for stage sounds.

The stage right XLR will mostly be used to mic the orchestra which is located in the audience, stage right side.
The stage left XLRs will mostly be used for stage microphones.

The patch panel will allow us to reroute signal to either the main mixing console in the house during full musicals. Or, run signal to a smaller board in the booth for use during smaller shows that don't require in house mixing (playback of CDs for dance concerts and such.)
The booth has a set of stairs for entry, so moving the main board in and out is not an option.

The mixing console will be used for various sized shows. Some shows will require more in the area of playback and effects. Therefore, we should have two portable racks (on wheels) that can be linked together as needed. This second rack should allow for effective use of inserts. Perhaps a patch panel will be needed.

Below is the beginnings of the basic layout for the main mixing board and the effects rack. The two boxes on the top are the main mixing rack. The bottom two are the additional effects rack.

In the main mixing rack, we have:

bullet16 wireless receivers.
bulletCD playback with two players.
bulletCassette player.
bulletSeveral Graphic EQ units for inserts.
bulletSpace for storage drawers.
bulletCD Recorder

In the effects rack we have:

bulletadditional wireless receivers.
bulletPC Computer for SFX use.
bulletLayla unit for PC/Mixer interface.
bulletSeveral Graphic EQ units for additional inserts.
bulletSeveral assorted Effects Units including Delay, Reverb...
bulletDVD Player
bulletSpace on top for computer monitor, keyboard & mouse.
bulletSpace on top for Stage Manager's cue book.

Still to be answered questions.

bulletLocation of BSS SoundWeb units. The best location seems to be in the amp rack in the booth. However, this would require additional wire use if the units are to be used for inserts (delay and such)
