The ship was a major project. It was my desire to have the bridge transform into
the ship for the finale moment in act II. Candide being about a perfect
world and about travel, almost every part of the set had a reference to travel.
In this case, the bridge allows travel from one place to another. Now, a section
of the bridge transforms itself from one conveyance of travel to another. The
bridge takes Candide off to the "New World."
