The theatre major includes courses in performance, theatre history and criticism, dramatic literature, design, and technical theatre production. It is designed to offer a balance between the varied artistic elements of theatre and an intellectual understanding of the diverse theoretical, historical, and cultural aspects of this art. Theatre students prepare for careers in theatre and other performance media, for further studies in theatre at the graduate level, or students may pursue careers in diverse fields outside of professional theatre.
