Dimmers 2

We've recycled our patch panel! It's now a Light Lab...

This is a patch panel. Sort of looks like an old telephone operator's plug boardmurr50.TIF (943768 bytes)
. Each vertical line of holes, 5 each, are wired to one dimmermurr006.tif (943768 bytes)
Here we can see all the circuits waiting to be used. These wires are connected to the circuits in the electric pipes.murr008.tif (943768 bytes)
Now this is an antique! A "Solitrol" rack of dimmers. On the left are the actual dimmer modules. Each has: a circuit breaker, indicator lights, trim pots and a handle.murr010.tif (943768 bytes)
This is one of the dimmers. On the left is one of the heat sinks. On the right we have the electronics of the dimmer.murr012.tif (943768 bytes)
Here's a close up of the front panel of three of the dimmers. The dimmer room was very dark and the flash washed out the details on the dimmer. Sorry.murr013.tif (943768 bytes)
This is the back of the rack. This cabinet is almost seven feet tall holding only 30 dimmers.murr014.tif (943768 bytes)
