Shadows

 

These are notes outlining methods of drawing mathematically correct shadows. We use perspective. Four point perspective. This is advanced stuff. perspsdw5.JPG (18137 bytes)
First, draw a simple 2 point cube.
Now, draw a light source. Then draw a line down to the floor. The light source is point #3 and where the line hits the floor is point #4.

This one is behind the box. Draw a line from the light past each visible top corner of the box. Then draw a line from the bottom of the light line past the bottom corners of the box. Look! Where the lines intersect each other is where the shadow hits the floor.perspsdw3.JPG (21313 bytes)
